Coming to terms with your OCD diagnosis is the first step to wellness. Often the diagnosis is a relief. Always remember you are not alone and you are not going insane. In fact in general OCD sufferers are very rational in their thinking around everything else in their lives but irrational around their OCD. However you can not afford to be complacent about recovery and getting well. It is crucial you find a recognised and qualified therapist to provide you with the tools and techniques to manage your condition. OCD at its worse is a chronic disorder and can last a lifetime for some, others can experience a full remission from symptoms. However the good news is, once the condition is fully managed it should not stop you from achieving your goals and desires.
If you are unsure about therapy and what it entails, please don't hesitate to ask me. I am more than willing to discuss questions about OCD and The Key Management Skills for Life Programme.
