A warm welcome and friendly introduction to myself and the clinic to start the intensive therapy off.
The therapeutic treatment is your therapy and I need to know your thoughts, feelings and experiences so I can tailor the programme within reason to suit you individually. I will allow plenty of opportunity for you to give me feedback along our journey of discovery together.
Here is a brief insight into the intensive programme:
"When you understand something you no longer fear it !"
Exposure Response Prevention
Conclusion.
Each Client who attends the OCD Key Skills for Life Programme will receive a personal copy of the powerpoint for their future reference. You will also receive a folder with relevant information to support your wellness, plus a book that will enhance your journey.
This involves working together closely, building a strong therapeutic relationship. If carers are involved that’s great but the focus will be on you to help you gain control over OCD. From the assessment I will be able to ascertain how many days treatment you will require. (Generally 4-5 consecutive days) However when working with children and adolescence because of the constraints of school therapy is sometimes split into sections which has worked equally well. I totally encourage the client’s carers to come along and become informed to gain insight and direction around the condition. Everyone needs to know and understand the disorder, therefore being on the same page and working together as a unit is the best recovery approach. The 4-5 day format can be accommodated over a weekend to fit in with taking time out of work etc.
£300 per day (Carers can attend for free)
Fast Track
After many years of effectively treating OCD, I am now making adjustments to the length of the therapy treatment, without compromising the client or the results. I will make a commitment to work the treatment in the shortest amount of time necessary. This obviously has a benefit to you the client in terms of time and money. This proviso is dependent upon an initial assessment.
My charges are therefore based on an hourly rate @ £75.00 per hour. (60mins)
Group therapy is a very powerful process and can help the client become more objective to their own experience. It's good to meet like-minded people who also share the same struggles which can help to inspire and motivate. There is often a sense of camaraderie within the group enhancing its effectiveness.
£1000 (Carers pay £50 per day)
Sometimes it is necessary to conduct therapy in the client’s home environment. This can be arranged, but you will be expected to fund the travelling costs hotel accommodation as well as the therapy time.
After the intensive therapy if you require any further top up treatment we can accommodate this via various mediums such as telephone, Skype or in person at my private practice.
Before commencement of any intensive therapeutic work I will need to conduct an assessment with the client which can be achieved via telephone, Skype or in person at my private practice which is held at the therapy clinic. The assessment generally takes around 90 mins and cost £125.00. Afterwards you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire so I can prepare and plan the treatment in advance.
Introducing the Fast Track tried and tested, condensed OCD treatment package. Conducted by a 20 yrs plus experienced and qualified therapist specialising in treating OCD.
£250.00
What’s included?
Who?
The above package alone may not suit everyone experiencing OCD. An initial telephone call with Karen will confirm this with you. Please take note. The treatment is not a quick fix, but an effective client validated solution to your problem. It contains the fundamental tools and techniques you need to regain control over your condition. A week after treatment Karen will arrange an inclusive telephone call to see how you are getting along and to answer any questions. If further treatment is required, Karen will discuss options with you.
Clients most suited to the above therapy would generally be considered high functioning. People who are holding down a job, going to school or further education, continuing on with life’s needs and aren’t co-dependent on anyone. Others include, people who are experiencing Pure ‘O’ (intrusive thoughts) and clients who can be responsible for their own ERP.(Exposure Response Prevention)
Where?
The treatment can be conducted face to face at my private consulting room. Or alternatively online via face time of mutual choice.
How long?
The assessment and delivery of the treatment takes around 2hrs. Extraordinarily quick! You will be surprised how much content and targeted information will be shared. Single session therapy is a real thing and professor Windy Dryden has conducted workshops on this approach.
Why?
Throughout lockdown I was inundated with callers wanting help. It made me reflect on my own journey of recovery. I asked my self the question. What was it that I needed in order to combat my OCD? The answer was simple. I needed a trusted therapist who new their stuff, I need the tools and techniques that worked and a safety net if I fell. From this I developed the Condensed programme. I have been running it for 2 years now and it’s been very successful. When clients reach out to me in the initial telephone call, if I thought they were a reasonable candidate for the programme, I explained the format and offered them the condensed approach.
