OCD Bespoke Packages

supportBespoke Treatment for OCD

A warm welcome and friendly introduction to myself and the clinic to start the intensive therapy off. Each day will begin at 10am and will finish up around 4pm.

The therapeutic treatment is your therapy and I need to know your thoughts, feelings and experiences so I can tailor the programme within reason to suit you individually. I will allow plenty of oportunity for you to give me feedback along our journey of discovery together.

Here is a brief insight into the intensive programme:

pp

Day 1 "When you understand something you no longer fear it !"

  • Today we will take a look at the importance of comprehending the OCD process and how it effects you psychologically, emotionally and physically.
  • How emotional arousal distorts thinking and behaviour.
  • The important use of informal mindfulness.
  • How to identify OCD.
  • What maintains the OCD process and how to break it.
  • The crucial enlightenment of thought action fusion.

 Day 2

  • We will start with a check in on how you are experiencing yourself, identifying any new awareness's and feedback.
  • Looking at distorted thinking and how it effects OCD.
  • Setting you up with new rational statements and anchors to help you to stay afloat.
  • The vital importance of acceptance and refocus.

Day 3 & 4  Exposure Response Prevention

  • Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) field work. (When working on a one to one basis each case will be individually tailored and thus will be dependent on how many behavioural days required.)
  • ERP is about testing out the above teachings and putting all into practice.
  • Don't worry about this as I won't be putting you into any danger and I will demonstrate to you before hand where appropriate what is needed to do. In fact the field work is nowhere near as scary as your OCD is bluffing you it will be .
  • These two days are also about being in the real world, humanising the therapy and testing out distorted thinking errors and there will be some fun along the way.
  • Having the clinic within my own home where we won't be interrupted or disturbed allows for greater ERP exercises which enhances the therapy realistically by getting as close to your own personal environment as possible.

Day 5  Conclusion.

  • Today is about bringing it all together.balance
  • We will look at several ways on how to bring the emotional arousal down.

  • The importance of refocus and getting out of your head and into your life.
  • Relapse prevention.
  • We will also discuss how to make the most of the additional follow up sessions.

Each Client who attends the OCD Key Skills for Life Programme will receive a personal copy of the power point for their future reference. You will also receive a folder with relevant information to support your wellness, plus a book that will enhance your journey.

One to One Intensive Format

This involves working together closely, building a strong therapeutic relationship. If carers are involved that’s great but the focus will be on you to help you gain control over OCD. From the assessment I will be able to ascertain how many days treatment you will require. (Generally 4-5 consecutive days) However when working with children and adolescence because of the constraints of school therapy is sometimes split into sections which has worked equally well. I totally encourage the client’s carers to come along and become informed to gain insight and direction around the condition. Everyone needs to know and understand the disorder, therefore being on th same page and working together as a unit is the best recovery approach. The 4-5 day format can be accommodated over a weekend to fit in with taking time out of work etc.

£250 per day (Carers can attend for free)

Group Format

Group therapy is a very powerful process and can help the client become more objective to their own experience. It's good to meet like-minded people who also share the same struggles which can help to inspire and motivate. There is often a sense of camaraderie within the group enhancing its effectiveness.

£1000 (Carers pay £50 per day)

Home visits

Sometimes it is necessary to conduct therapy in the client’s home environment. This can be arranged, but you will be expected to fund the travelling costs hotel accommodation as well as the therapy time.

After the intensive therapy if you require any further top up treatment we can accomodate this via various mediums such as telephone, Skype or in person at my private practice.

The Intensive Programme consists of:

  • Education and the understanding of the disorder
  • Neuroplasticity and the effects on the brain
  • Imagination and thought processes
  • Perception and rational statements
  • Behaviour. Reality v’s OCD
  • Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
  • Mindful Awareness
  • Life style
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Calming and Relaxation techniques

Assessment

consulting roomBefore commencement of any intensive therapeutic work I will need to conduct an assessment with the client which can be accieved via telephone, Skype or in person at my private practice which is held at the therapy clinic. The assessment generally takes around one and half hours to two hours and cost £75.00. Afterwards you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire so I can prepare and plan the treatment in advance.
